MAKEUP BRUSHES EVERY GIRL SHOULD HAVE

Let’s talk about makeup brushes! The right kind of makeup brush is just as important as the product itself and it’s no secret. You can have the best brand of eye shadow but if not applied with the correct brush, it’s bound to look made-up.

FOR EYES

1. EYE SHADOW BRUSH:
An eye shadow brush has short bristles and is used for applying shadow on the eye lid up to the brow bone. For longer lasting eye shadow, apply a cream eye shadow and top off with a powder version of the same color. Dab a color of joy on the eye lid with this flat brush. Make sure it is stiff enough. Stiff bristles help you pick up enough color.
2. BLENDING BRUSH:
This is used to blend eye shadow to eliminate streaks and division lines between colors. This brush is crucial because the worst you can do is going out with unblended makeup. It has a rounded tip and soft fibers and can be used to blend colors as well as soften eye shadow applied on the crease. You can create that smoldering Smokey eye look with it and what not. It inspires you to bring out that creative spirit in you.
3. ANGLED BRUSH:
This brush will help you line your eyes with eye shadow powders or any gel and liquid liners. It’s also a great tool to use when filling in your eyebrows. This stiff brush helps lining the lash lines with perfection. Applying powder eye liner becomes a cake walk with this brush.
4. PENCIL BRUSH:
The pencil brush is fantastic for smudging pencil and gel liners along the bottom and top of your lids. For those of you with a smaller eye shape, this brush is amazing in the crease! Use this brush for smudging color on the upper and lower lash line. It works wonders when applying color to the crease for a defined look.
5. EYELINER BRUSH:
This brush helps you apply a thin line of eye liner that glides on smoothly with precision. Try flicking it out with this brush and create that cat’s eye look.
6. EYEBROW AND EYELASH COMB:
This brush is used for combing eyebrow hair and helping you separate lash hair thus removing mascara clumps. It’s a must have if you are a mascara fanatic like me. Better buy metal teeth lash combs.
7. MASCARA BRUSH:
This is the brush used to apply mascara. It is so important to choose the right kind of mascara brush.
FOR FACE

1. FOUNDATION BRUSH:
This painter-like brush is great for moisturizer, primer or foundation application. Most people apply foundation with their fingertips or a sponge, and although there is nothing wrong with that, a foundation brush gives a totally flawless finish with no streaks or lines.
2. CONCEALER BRUSH:
This looks like a mini version of the foundation brush. It is used to spot conceal blemishes and discoloration. Dip into your pot of Concealer and pat (don’t brush) on to blemished areas. Finish off with powder to set the Concealer.
3. POWDER BRUSH:
A powder is large and fluffy and is used to apply face powder as a finishing touch to your make up look. It gives a more natural finish then a sponge or powder puff. To use, swirl the brush in your loose powder or compact, tap excess product off, and apply on face. This brush works well when applying loose powder in order to set the foundation. It is suggested to have separate brushes each for applying blush and powder.
4. BLUSH BRUSH:
Used to apply bronzer and blush, this brush looks like a smaller powder brush. Apply bronzer to your cheekbones first and then blush only to the apples of your cheeks. Blend the bronzer and blush together well for a natural looking glow. A brush like the third one in the picture above is recommended for applying blush. Better avoid the small ones that come along with the packaging when you buy blush. Its unique shape makes it easier to blend. Always go for the ones with soft bristles if you don’t want to risk overdoing it.
5. HIGHLIGHTER BRUSH:
Highlight those cheeks with this awesome brush. You can also apply blush using the soft bristles of this brush. It applies color like a dream.
FOR LIPS

1. LIP BRUSH:
For those of you who don’t like applying lipstick directly from the tube, or looking for a more precise application, a lip brush is for you.  Although lipsticks are already designed to glide easily on the lips, a lip brush gives a more precise finish and also saves on product. You can also use this to mix different lip colors. Use this brush for a controlled application of lipstick. It helps you blend the lip liner into the lipstick perfectly. You can make use of this brush to apply eye liner too.
